How will my courses transfer from another school to WVU?

Due to the sequential nature and learning goals of the OTD curriculum, all students admitted to the OTD Program will be required to complete the full curriculum. The West Virginia University OTD Program will not give credit for occupational therapy coursework completed at any other university toward the OTD degree.

Transfer credit will only be considered for undergraduate prerequisite coursework. To find out if your pre-requisite courses will transfer:

What is an entry-level Master's OT program?

The WVU MOT program is a 2+3 program. This means that students complete 2 years of undergraduate curriculum to fulfill the MOT prerequisite courses.  Once students are enrolled in the MOT program, they will take 3 years of OT focused coursework. Students who apply to the program who already have a degree will still complete the full three years of OT education. The first two years of the MOT program are considered undergraduate, and students will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Human Performance and Health. At the end of the third year, students will receive a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) degree.
