Why did you choose to become a doctor? Was there a specific “a-ha” kind of moment?
I was always interested in medicine since I was young. I knew I wanted to become a doctor so I could help others. As I grew older, I became interested in OB/GYN specifically because I loved the idea of helping women in all aspects of their life.
What in your educations experience and training stood out to you, and what advice would you share with medical students who are in that position now?
I really value the friendships and mentorship I’ve gained in my training. That has really stood out to me. It’s important to have people that support you and your education which I feel we have here at WVU. I would encourage medical students to look for that same support and mentorship both now in their schooling and in the future when finding the right fit for residency.
Why did you choose your specialty? Does it have any special significance for WV?
I chose OB/GYN because I love working in women’s healthcare and I enjoy supporting women. I also love the variety that the field has to offer and the hands-on nature of the job.
Why did you choose to come to WVU for your training?
I chose WVU for several reasons. I primarily wanted to train and work here to give back to the community where I did all of my education. It was also important to stay here in Morgantown to be close to our families. We love Morgantown and all it has to offer.
What’s the best thing about doing what you do?
There are so many things I love about my job, but my favorite part in general is helping women. We have the privilege of helping women during some of the best moments of their lives which is a special thing to be a part of.
What are your aspirations while at WVU?
I plan on staying here after I finish residency and working aside my mentors that helped me get to this place. I’m also eager to work with the OB/GYN residents were at WVU and helping them find their way through residency. I hope to make a difference with patients here in my home state.
What honors/awards/accolades stand out to you in your career?
Becoming chief resident this year was an honor and an exciting step in my career. I enjoy being someone the residents can look up to and go to with issues or concerns. I appreciate the trust my co-residents have in me to help them

I can fit quarters in my dimples!
What’s the best kept secret in Morgantown?
There’s a park in Cheat Lake that is a hidden gem. The park has trails, picnic tables and even a little beach area. It’s a nice area to relax and get outdoors.
