COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: Consider participating in an educational research study that targets HIV patient education. If you are interested in HIV patient care, please contact Dr. Cottrell or Diane Casdorph dcasdorph@hsc.wvu.edu or Jeannette Southerly jsoutherly@hsc.wvu.edu . Students will earn community service for their effort. Medical students will work with students from nursing and pharmacy to interview standardized patients during the week of March 20th. It is estimated this will take approximately two hours per student to complete the activities
NBME STUDY TOOLS! Did you know that the NBME has basic science and clinical student self-assessment exams which provide you individual reports with score interpretation guides. These exams are ordered and scheduled (and yes paid for) by you to fit your needs.
ANNUAL SCHOOL OF MEDICINE TALENT SHOW: The School of Medicine Talent Show is planned for Monday, March 20th at 6:30pm in Okey Patteson Auditorium. Join us for this special event; $10.00 a ticket which gives you 1 hour of community service. Support your talented classmates! Sign-up requests for acts and volunteers will be emailed in the next couple weeks so keep an eye out!

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: Berkeley Medical Center Health Promotions is planning the Truffle Shuffle 5k for April 29 in downtown Martinsburg. Last year at least 1 med student came to work a first aid station at the finish. Would we be able to get 1-2 med students again this year? COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: “Choices” in cooperation with the Shepherd Nursing Students. At Shenandoah Community Health Center, Sat. 2/18. Students are being asked to present on one of the following topics for diabetic patients, eye care, dental care, diabetic foot care and issues, and possibly perform foot exams assisted by nursing students.
