ALL STUDENTS INVITED:  AWARDS CONVOCATION Thursday, May 11, 5:00 pm, Fukushima Auditorium.  Join us and support your fellow students and faculty. 

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY:  Sat. June 3.  Sports Medicine Center sponsoring free sports physicals with EKGs.  MD student help from all levels is needed again this year to complete approximately 300+ exams.  Primary care, orthopedic surgery, and pediatric cardiology faculty will be on hand to conduct portions of the physicals.  This is a good opportunity to work with faculty and residents of those departments and get community service hours at the same time. Healthworks Rehab and Fitness 8:00 - noon. Work as much or as little as you want. Interested?  Dr. Matthew Lively.

ALL STUDENTS - REQUIRED PPD RENEWAL:  Are you getting your PPD’s?  Remember that they are due by June 1st PPD renewal FOR ALL STUDENTS!  NOTE:  Compliance = approved system by CastleBranch.  Non-compliance is reported to the Committee on Academic and Professional Standards.

What’s Happening – Eastern

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Sports Physicals- with Dr. Cicchino, Tu. Jun. 6, Martinsburg High School, Wed. Jun.7 at Hedgesville High and Thu. Jun. 8 at Musselman High.  All sessions are 5:00-6:30pm and 6:30-8:00pm.  Student volunteers to assist with physicals. 

AWARDS CONVOCATION:  The School of Medicine Awards Ceremony- Thu. May 11, 6:00pm, Fukushima Auditorium, Morgantown.  You will be notified if you will be presented an award. 

REMINDER:  All students may access their personal health information through the My WVU Chart.  It is against hospital policy to access your own medical records in EPIC. 

IMPORTANT STUDENT NOTICE FOR PARKING AT BERKELEY MEDICAL CENTER:  Students may not park in the hospital parking lot.  Parking citations are being issued for student parking in patient spots. Students may park in the Health Science Center lot and also Dorothy McCormack building away from the building.

LITERATURE AND MEDICINE BOOK CLUB – Wed., June 21, 2017.  Time and Place TBD, watch for details. The book this time will be The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls.  Interested individuals may contact April Reynolds, L&D Nursing Director, at ext 37015 or areynolds@wvumedicine.org for details about requesting a copy of the book or general book club questions.  

CUSHING REMINDERS:  We are about 5 weeks from the end of the semester.  Please review your H& P’s and start following up on your graded H & P’s.   You need 12 for the semester.  Also, be sure to keep up on your E*Value Case Logs.  These are going to be previewed the last week of clinical rotations, and we will contact you if any are incomplete.  If you have not completed your Observed H & P for Surgery and Medicine, please contact Dr. Turner or one of your Internal Medicine doctors. 

JACQUES REMINDERS:  We are about 6 weeks from the end of the semester.  Please review your graded H & P’s for completing the requirements.

OB/GYN: 2 H&P’s (1 Gyn, 1 OB; must include admissions order set with one of them)
