EVERY STUDENT - IMPORTANT INFORMATION and DEADLINE:  The Fall 2017 Student Health Insurance Waiver is available now. The deadline for completion is July 26th.  Questions?  Student Insurance Office. 304-293-6815.   EVERY STUDENT is automatically enrolled in the University Insurance plan and assessed in the Fall tuition UNLESS a waiver has been submitted by the deadline and approved.

CLASS OF 2021 - WELCOME!  To the SoM MD Message of the Week.  This weekly notice is distributed through your class list serve every Tuesday afternoon from your Student Services office and contains many important notices to each class, and to the student body as a whole.  Begin making it your pattern to watch for, and read through, this weekly notice, paying particular attention to the information in your class section.  These messages are archived weekly in the Student Services web page.   

What’s Happening – Charleston

Manna Meal is taking place this Saturday, June 24th from 11:30 until 1:00 PM. Also an an option to work in the Manna Meal kitchen from 9am-11am.  Email Chloe Williams if you are interested.   Manna Meal is located at St. John's Episcopal Church 1105 Quarrier Street. Bring stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, and any other diagnostic tools that you'd like; and a box of cereal, a jar of peanut butter, crackers, or any fresh or packaged food items you may have. Review if needed the confidentiality, liability, and safety training PowerPoints on the CHASM website by following the link -  https://medicine.hsc.wvu.edu/charleston/students/project-chasm/street-rounds/.  Please indicate under the street rounds tab that you have completed the training PowerPoints by signing the Confidentiality and Liability forms.

THANK YOU to all of the students who assisted Dr. Cicchino with high school sports physicals.  Your help was greatly appreciated with the large number of physicals that were done!!

WELCOME to the Eastern Class of 2019!!  We are looking forward to working with you over the next 2 years.

PEDS GRAND ROUNDS is broadcast from Morgantown every Wednesday 8-9 am. The first Wednesday is at the board room on the 8th floor of BMC.  Remaining sessions held at the ED conference room in ED of BMC.   If you are on a Pediatrics Week, please plan to attend.  

TUMOR BOARDS - Every Thursday, 8th Floor class room, 12:00 noon -1:00 pm. Different speakers and topics.  Lunch provided.

COMMUNITY SERVICE – Dr. Mark Cucuzzella and Dr. Ryan McCarthy will be conducting physicals for the Middle School Cross Country on Tues., Aug. 22nd, 6-8pm, at North Middle School in Martinsburg.  Need medical students to assist with physicals and distribute HPV information.  If you are interested in assisting, please contact the Eastern Student Services office: 304-596-6312.
