WVU HEALTHCARE SIMULATION WEEK 2017. Recognition of Simulation Education Week will begin today through Friday, September 15. Tours are open to the public and run every 30 minutes in the afternoon each day, beginning at the Pylons.
ALUMNI WEEKEND You are invited to participate in Alumni Weekend! We are also in need of student workers to help with Alumni Weekend registration at Lakeview on Friday, October 13 and also the Museum Unveiling and Book Rendering at HSC. FLU SHOT REQUIREMENT: All MD students are required to post confirmation current flu vaccine to CastleBranch no later than December 1, 2017. You can receive this vaccine at any health clinic or pharmacy. Save your confirmation of immunization, e.g. receipt, doctor's note, etc. Castle Branch will notify you when the report opens to receive this document.
TOWN HALL. A month after the tragic events on and around the campus of the University of Virginia, the Health Sciences Center and WVU Medicine community will hold a Town Hall Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 12 noon in Okey Patteson Auditorium to discuss what we are doing - and what we can do better - to build and maintain a diverse and inclusive environment for our students, faculty, patients, staff and visitors. MINDFULNESS WORK GROUP at WVU Health Sciences is pleased to offer Mindful Morsels, a series of talks aimed at providing the community with opportunities to learn more about mindfulness and explore practical applications that can improve our sense of connection and compassion.

LGBTQ ADVOCACY & INCLUSION WEEK INVITATION: October 23rd - 27th - daily noon lectures, multiple Grand Rounds Speakers, and evening events during the week. We have confirmed nationally prominent speakers including the Educational Director from Fenway Health in Boston. The week is being organized by volunteers in the Departments of Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Plastic Surgery, the WVU SOM SHAPE group, and the WVU LGBTQ+ Center.

STEPS NEEDS VOLUNTEERS Please contact Lee Ann Miller at STEPS (lamiller@hsc.wvu.edu) for an excellent opportunity to learn a sensitive exam in a patient centered environment. For 90 minutes of your time you get individualized instruction in the male urogenital exam and an opportunity to shape the future instruction of your colleagues. Community service hours permitted. Dates are: Friday September 15 at 2:30; Tuesday September 19 at 12:00; Wednesday September 20 at 12:00

Grant-funded, interdisciplinary educational program to assist community members who have diabetic/metabolic health issues with making proper food choices.
