Market@WVU - the new Health Sciences cafeteria – is tentatively scheduled to open Thursday, Aug. 25.

REQUEST FROM DR. MARSH: Health for WV and the World! WVU Diversity Week October 9-14 will give us the opportunity to get to know our community better and showcase our unique perspectives to our extended WVU family…. I invite you to use the online form to submit your ideas. Activities could include things such as food tastings, concerts, performances, demonstrations, interactive group sessions, presentations, panel discussions, etc. -- but be creative and collaborative in your suggestions.”
COMPETITION BETWEEN CLASSES now begins for the 2016-2017 “Class with Highest Eval Compliance” award: Dr. Cottrell offered for 2016-2017 academic year: “Any class with 100% compliance, 0 incomplete, will receive $500.00 at the end of the next academic year.”

- Class of 2019 Stats: 9,483 evals scheduled; 9.242 completed (99.62% compliance); 206 suspended/deleted; 35 incomplete.
- Class of 2018 Stats: 13,076 evals scheduled; 11,672 completed (95.24% compliance); 818 suspended/deleted; 583 incomplete.
- Class of 2017 Stats: 10,581 evals scheduled; 8,766 completed (94.87% compliance); 1,341 suspended/deleted; 474 incomplete.
- Class of 2016 Stats: 478 evals scheduled; 396 completed (86.46% compliance); 20 suspended/deleted; 62 incomplete.

What’s Happening – Charleston
KANAWHA COMMUNITIES THAT CARE is a non-profit organization that is involved with many awareness events in the community regarding drug and alcohol use. They have two events coming up this weekend that could use some medical student volunteers. Friday, August 26th at 4pm -- "Get Healthy Night" Appalachian Power Park. You would help set up a table with information about alcohol abuse and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions). You would likely "man" the booth throughout the game. 2-3 students needed. Saturday, August 27 from 9:30am-noon -- WV Overdose Awareness Day Tribute. Flyer attached below. Volunteer duties include comforting families as well as working with and observing Dr. Brumage of the Kanawha County Healthy Dept. as he writes and explains Narcan (Naloxone) prescriptions. 3-4 students needed. PEDS GRAND ROUNDS is broadcast from Morgantown every Wednesday 8-9 am. The first Wednesday is at the board room on the 8th floor of BMC. The rest of the Wednesday is at the ED conference room in ED of BMC. If you are on a Pediatrics Week, please plan to attend.
