EPIC DOWNTIME EXTENDED:  The Epic environment which includes Epic SOM Train will be upgraded on December 10, 9:00 am, and will be done by Monday, December 12, at 8 am.  There will be a downtime for this upgrade during this time-frame.  Please make sure you do not try to open any of the icons within your Citrix environment during this time.  Once Epic is upgraded and all has been tested successfully by the WVUH Team, WVU HSC ITS will e-mail that all is back online.

ALL STUDENTS – The COMMITTEE ON ACADEMIC STANDARDS (CAPS) will meet in full session December 15 (M1, M4 & Dual Degree review) and January 4 (M2 & M3 review) to review 2016-2017 academic progress to-date.  Any actions taken will be posted to your E*Value CAPS Documentation folder no later than 48 business hours following the review.   

IMMEDIATE PSYCHIATRY RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY:  A retrospective chart review on pregnant patients with opioid use disorder treated in the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry.  Details are in the Academic Enrichment SOLE site.  Interested?  Laura R. STEP 1 APPLICATION PICTURE FORM:  As you complete the NBME Step 1 application, print the required picture form and submit it to Student Services for school seal & mailing – completed, signed, with an attached picture (print name on the back of the picture before attaching).  Deadline March 15. 

Y2Q:  Still at the 99.1% completion point!!!!!   The survey closes Jan. 3.

THIRD YEAR SCHEDULING CLASS MEETING:  Thursday, January 12th, 2017 12-5 pm.  ATTENDANCE REQUIRED for all students beginning third year in the 2017-2018 academic year.  Summer registration information will be distributed at this meeting.

Congratulations to MSIII Belen Pappa, who was married in Rockville, MD, on Nov. November 23rd in Rockville, Maryland. Her husband’s name is Vincent and their formal wedding will be held in Argentina in December 29th

EASTERN CAMPUS STUDENT MEETINGS WITH FINANCIAL AID:  Eric Meadows from the Financial Aid Office will be visiting the Eastern Campus on Wed. Jan. 4th at the Health Science Center.  He is presenting a workshop to the MSIII students in the Morning and will be taking appointments to meet with individual MSIV students starting at 12:00noon.  If you would like to make an appointment on Wed. COLLEGE OF SURGEONS meeting opportunity - The West Virginia Chapter American College of Surgeons is pleased to announce that they will again sponsor medical students’ attendance at the 2017 Annual Meeting May 11, 12, 13 at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV.  This sponsorship is made possible by CAMC, Marshall SOM and WVU Hospitals. PEDS GRAND ROUNDS is broadcast from Morgantown every Wednesday 8-9 am. The first Wednesday is at the board room on the 8th floor of BMC.  The rest of the Wednesday is at the ED conference room in ED of BMC.  If you are on a Pediatrics Week, please plan to attend.
