GOLD HUMANISM HONARY SOCIETY (GHHS) is hosting a conference called Appalachian Healthcare: Meeting the Needs of Patients and Communities. It will take place in the WVU Building on the CAMC Memorial campus in Kanawha City on March 23 from 9-3, and lunch will be provided. The goal of this conference is to examine Appalachians as an invisible minority, and to discuss common obstacles faced in the area, such as poverty, mental illness, addiction, limited access to healthcare, and coal related health issues. SPECIAL COMMUNITY/SCHOOL SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: M2 Volunteers needed to assist a gross anatomy lab coordinated by Drs. Klinkhachorn and Meigh for graduate students in the Dept. of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). The lab is based on stations of the head, neck, and torso.
